ASBURY PARK -- Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man
late this morning in the area of Prospect and Summerfield avenues,
authorities said. The man was rushed to the hospital but has died,
Deputy Police Chief Mark Kinmon said.
Garrett Giberson, the fire department spokesman, said the department's
emergency medical team responded to a report at about 11:30 of a victim
with a gunshot wound to the head.
Firefighters started CPR on the victim and he was rushed to Jersey
Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Giberson said.
