Indeed, it's a great initiative. I believe it'll have a profound impact on our education too in the long run. Audio books or any audio study materials have become pretty effective study tools these days and, it's extremely beneficial for those who happen to be print disabled.
For instance, I'm a visually challenged IAS aspirant and while choosing optional subjects for Mains, I had to make a lot of effort towards finding soft or audio version of assamies literature. Finally, I gave up that plan anyways though, as my accessive technology [screen reader and Braille display] doesn't support most of the vernacular language including Assamese.
