It seems Assam has become giant of a state and our
vision has become very local centric. If an institute
comes up at say western Assam district of Kokrajhar,
it does not exist for the people of Dibrugarh. Either
they would not like to go there or they may not be

That is precisly why, sometimes a well-funded (private) college may actually
do well. While it will be good to get the State and Central govt to invest
in education, it might do well to explore the private funding avenues as
well.

around five are in the government sector, while about ?45 are in the
private sector, accounting for 16,000 engineering seats in the state.*
