Biennial meet of Asam Sahitya Sabha

SILAPATHAR, June 8 The 70th biennial session of Asam Sahitya Sabha will be
held at Sukapha Sammanya Khetra at Dhemaji with a five-day programme from
February 4 next.
In this regard, a meeting of the souvenir sub-committee of Dhemaji session was
held at Dhemaji Sahitya Sabha Bhavan on June 1 for the forthcoming session.
The meeting was presided over by president of souvenir sub-committee of Dhemaji
session Khageswar Pegu and the purpose of the meet was delivered by joint
secretary Bogen Gogoi.
The meeting passed a several resolution for the souvenir and also decided to
organise a meeting every fortnightly to check the advancement of the souvenir.
President of reception committee Dr Puspa Gogoi along with Bipin Chutia, Dibya
Chutia, Debeswar Baruah, Khagen Gogoi, Tilen Gogoi, Dilip Hazarika, Anup
Hazarika, Puspa Chutia, Nibedita Bora Handique, Birhadot Neog. Dipali Gogoi,
Arun Kr Dihingia and several others were present in the meeting according to a
press release.
Felicitated: In a felicitation meet, Palash Jyoti Borah, 3rd rank holder in
HSLC Examination 2008 was felicitated with Dr Surendra Roy memorial prize.
The numeral prize consisting of Rs 5000/- was presented by MLA of Jonai LAC
Bhuban Pegu in a meeting held under the presidentship of Father George of Don
Bosco High School, Silapathar on June 2 at the school premises.
The top of Don Bosco prize was given for the first time in the memory of Dr
Surendra Roy by the Sajal Sports Centre.
