*UPDATE* *INAUGURATION OF NEW JBF ANIMAL RELIEF CENTRE (ARC) PRIMESES AT **ALPCO CAMPUS, PANJABARI ROAD, SIX MILE, GUWAHATI, ASSAM, INDIA***
*1st JUNE 2011, GUWAHATI:* JBF today inaugurated a new premise for JBF Animal Relief Centre at ALPCO Campus, Panjabari Road, Six mile, Guwahati. ALPCO had entered into MOU with JBF (INDIA) TRUST for renting the premise to run JBF’s ongoing program “Animal Birth Control & Anti-Rabies Program” which is undergoing in collaboration with Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC). This program is a part of JBF’s Humane Dog & Rabies Management Program that also includes other animal welfare activities such as treatment of Homeless & Homed animals, rehabilitation of homeless animals, special animal health check-up drive, vaccination camp, advocacy & sensitization programs, education programs, training and advisory services etc. The inauguration ceremony was attended by a good number of people from various field including animal lovers, veterinarians, veterinary students, media people & well wishers. Additional commissioner of GMC Mr. S. Theik lightened the lamp & wished success of JBF in controlling dog population and to increase its work more successfully. He also said that JBF is helping GMC rather than GMC is helping JBF in controlling the stray animal mainly dog population. Managing Director of ALPCO, Mr. B. P. Kakoti wished good luck and gave assurance for help as much as possible from ALPCO side. JBF is planning for more animal birth control operations to control the dog population in Guwahati city at its new premises. JBF highly acknowledges WSPA for its Small Grant Fund for Veterinary Equipments with which JBF has set up a new Operation Theater in the new premise. JBF team thanks WSPA for their support and wishes more support from well wishers also to make the program successful.
