I was not planning to comment this rant, but it seems there is so much
ignorance about a running gag with loaded questions, that I have to
explain, that I did NOT REALLY ASKED "if he stopped beating his wife".

I have also to explain, that when somebody asks me "confirm or deny",
I do not consider that as a friendly. question. I was in the military
, and "confirm" has a very strong meaning there.

Up to now I have answered over 3000 questions regarding ASSP in
English, which is not my native language. Nobody asked me before in
that way, so I overreacted in some way but "Surely I was joking"*.
