I have a situation that appears to my novice eyes to be not correct.
I receive numerous emails that come from an external ip but has a sender
name that uses a local domain. For example: the sender ip might be
123.123.123.123, the send email address would be j...@example.com a

emails per day and ~80-85 percent of it is spam.
Right now they're using Exchange 2007 with Forefront as a spam filter, but
too much spam gets through and it seems Forefront is off it's limits.
