I read through each of the patents Verizon alleges Vonage is infringing.
The patents are extremely broad and two seem to possibly apply to parts of
Asterisk. If Verizon is successful in its case against Vonage, could Digium
be next in its sights ?

It is legal (in Maryland anyways) to sell products such drug

This is not entirely true. A product manufactured with
Ok,
So wouldn't that put Level3 in violation? They use enumI'm pretty sure
other ACTUAL Telcos use it as well!!! It almost sounds like rather then
enum, Verizon has a patent on DNS servers
At any rate.
628... and 610... seem to talk about enum (or DNS). If you aren't running

If Digium were a service provider, maybe.

This is basically enum. There's nothing to say Asterisk can't provide
this functionality in their software, just like Cisco can. The problem is
in if you use it. We don't, and Vonage clearly feels they can get around
it, so I don't think it's a huge issue. Originally, people were saying

Anyway, I really do think she is a star. She makes the concept look less

I wish the US attorney general would go after a large company for
abusing the patent system. Antitrust and racketeering are 2 things that
come to mind.

The US Attorney and its Justice Department is so disconnected from
politics for hire that it has already destroyed the biggest US
monopolies and conspiracies, like Microsoft and Big Tobacco. The US is
an entrepreneur's paradise, where entrenched industry dominators tremble
as little guys
