If you haven't yet registered for a free Sipgate DID, I suggest you go
do so. If you are in, or interested in the business, Sipgate has a few
tricks up their sleeves and you should be aware of them. Someone from

Hello,

I can't find any documentation that a UK number 020 0xxx is a London
number. I can find 020 3xxx is new and most Londoners don't know
about it, and that most Londoners believe only 020 7xxx and 020 8xxx
are valid.
Can anyone point me to some documentation about the geographic

Thanks Alistair. It seems that some further digging makes it clear that
many people in the London area don't understand their own numbering
system:
So the answer is: Any 020 number is London.
What's particularly interesting is that it's not just the punters who don't
seem to know the correct dialling codes for London. We've had reports from
clients with 020 3 numbers saying that they can't be dialled from certain
networks in the USA,

Hi Peter,
020 is the code for London. At the moment, only 020 3, 7 and 8 numbers
should be being used; 020 0 numbers have been allocated, but they're for
'national dialling only' - i.e. one can dial us (020 3298 2000) as 3290
2000 from within London, and this holds for 020 7 and 020 8 as well,
We can have up to 5000 ports open at any given time. How many do you need?

Hi,
We're looking at the above and flat rate packages and wondered if
anyone has a product/solution that handles the invoicing/payment
missing piece?
Think unlimited minutes in the uk, with fair usage. It won't be hard
to roll our own, but we're interested in any existing solutions.
Thanks.

How do you transfer/move an active call to an external number via a

out of the connection. Basically, how can we have asterisk dial another
external number, transfer the caller, then disconnect and no longer be

See if you can get the provider to do an express or force port of
the number. Cost will probably be approx $100 but it should get your
number back.
