enough resources to go after someone, or if some jurisdictions dont

I'm not sure what support you would need. The phones work great with
Asterisk, especially on an internal LAN, and using an ftp server for the
config gives you a great deal of control. Apart from sending back faulty
phones, there's not much you need from the manufacturer, it's an appliance.
