Assuming the back end clecs/ilecs cooperate, and assuming the "out provider"
doesn't reject the port out for whatever reason, we usually get ports
completed within a week.

I Agree, porting is time consuming. We've 2 full time employees
exclusively for LNP.
So, I would say that "everyone in the business knows that porting cost
money and is time consuming, hence the porting fees".

I find porting very time-consuming, and admire the wireless industry's
"instant" porting.
Do you know some way to simplify and speed up landline porting?
