Hey,
Is there someone on the list that can turn up a dedicated server in the US
fairly quickly? I have a rather urgent need for one as I need to migrate a
few processes that are creating a rather large bandwidth bill in another
country.

Since you only doing transcoding of sip/iax2, an p4 with 2gb ram should be
ok. MP3, queues, ivrs, call recording may need more resources.

Call monitoring/converting to mp3/emailing for 100 calls working for us at
P4/2GB ram/SCSI.
So, just transcoding, which take less resources, i guess ok :)
Also, look at voip-info.org, search for 'asterisk at load' or like that,
there is some articles

I don't think asterisk supports g.723 (at least
doing transcoding of 4 T1's is a tough job for P4. you must get branded
Xeons for this. Dell machines are really good as far as Xeon is concerned.

I was afraid of that. Can you recommend a reasonably priced dedicated

We will be starting from ground zero and would like to keep startup

We are in the development stage of an application that requires
asterisk, where asterisk could be serving several web sites. The sites
are small to medium? sized.
I am wondering whether or not asterisk can reside on the the same
server as the websites without resource complications ..
