If I understood your question well, you can do this,
if your legacy PBX has a feature of DISA, that's enable you after entering the
PBX to dial your desired extension,
you can setup each FXS port as an extension, then create a ring group
containing group of extensions (with 1 digit for

There is no Asterisk GUI that runs like that. You could install X and
Firefox but thats just a bit retarded. Plug in a network cable! Its

Folks,
I am curious to know what the best way to build click2call with asterisk?
There are a bunch of examples of the web that use socket to launch first leg
of the call and then dump the call to a context that dials the second leg of
the call. Unfortunately, none of the solutions I found
Hi list !
Normally I work with vi and by editing the config files, but now I've
installed the asterisk-gui from svn to check it out.
Is there a way to limit access to certain menu's ? Is there a way to
create a user with limited access ??
Can I create a user and choose the menu's that one sees ?

Hi Dude,

somehow resistent to harsh environment like offices ;) , except the keypad
which after a year or more just sometimes types two digits with one push on
a button, the AG188N ATA is also a good choise and we have

I didn't know it could be possible to run several instances of xinetd, each
binded to a specific IP address.

Hello,
I'm rather new to svn, so please, forgive me if this question sounds naive
but is it normal that no trunk/ subdirectory is visible in
http://svn.asterisk.org/svn/libpri/ ?
I can see a trunk/ subdirectory in either asterisk, dahdi-linux or
dahdi-tools.

Hello,
I'm evaluating to possibility to use chan_misdn as a short term workaround,
in case latest Dahdi is not stable enough for what we are planning to do (we
wish to use Junghanns and Digium BRI hardware with Asterisk 1.6) .
I've read www.mISDN.org but still have a couple of questions :

Great idea !
I didn't know it could be possible to run several instances of xinetd, each
binded to a specific IP address.
Is this specific to xinetd or does openbsd-inetd also support this feature ?
Anyway, I'll check this in openbsd-inetd doc myself and (hopefully) report
my findings here.

xinetd will let you do multiple bindings of a single port, with a
single instance of xinetd running.
...
As far as I know, standard BSD (and Linux) inetd doesn't have
this capability.
Good to know !
Thanks for the pointer !!
Testing xinetd is
Having a trunk version available is a convention, but not a requirement of
using subversion. You'll probably want to check out a branch.

You would define two service entries in the config file, with the same

Oliver,
I have some comments, but am looking for a good answer to this as well.
1). 2.6.27 kernels to include a version of mISDN v2.0. It's not as up
to date as the full version on the mISDN.org site.
2). From my understanding chan_lcr is the preferred way to connect
Asterisk to mISDN
Ciao,
ok I'll try to install X and firefox. I understood that is not in standard
distribution of Asterisk;
Thanks for the help and sorry for trivial question.

I have used both misdn and dahdi_bri over the last year, and would happy
take dahdi if for no other reason that it's much easier to install.
A patch is available to allow dahdi_bri to work with Asterisk 1.4, and I
have used that successfully.
