If you are running your asterisk box on Linux, just add a rule to your
iptables to route any port to port 5060 on the local box, this way both
ports respond the same way..
I do that now with my mail system(s).. It accepts incoming smtp on port 25
(standard port), but I also accept it on a
with
cordless handset. It costs about the same as the Hitachi phone on its
own. I don't think that the cordless handset is truly SIP/Wifi based.
But that may not matter if its well integrated into the phone.

Hi,
I just stopped in at Best Buy here in CT, USA. I found an interesting
offering from Vtech there. It states it's a VOIP wireless phone system made
for the Vonage service.
Here it is at their website:

I just read all the literature on the Vtech website, and, I think you are
exactly correct!
Oh well, so much for cheap SIP wireless phones :-)

Nothing special at all. You'd be better off with a Sipura device and a
Panasonic cordless phone.

Is there a place I can go that documents all the options in the sccp.conf

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to fix this issue..
I just recently have a need to have a group of people (5 to be exact) talk via
a conference call on a semi-regular basis.
The phone lines that are connected to a conference (meetme) are as such:

I'd much rather a straight failure.
I've had Broadvoice for over a year now, and although their outages are
really annoying, the fact that their service costs $20/month unlimited is
what keeps me with them..
I have 2 Inbound #'s through them (same account), one in GA (678-253) and

About 4PM EDT I noticed that my broadvoice service cannot register..
Anyone else having problems with their broadvoice service?

If anyone has one working with Asterisk, how does it sound/work?
Also, does it have caller ID with name? The Budgettones only support plain

Hey,
I just asked the same question a few hours ago :-)

No offense taken. In fact, it sounds like you have 'spotted' an error or
potential error in the way I have configured this. I would appreciate any
and all comments/suggestions you may have on how I could configure asterisk
to change dtmfmode depending on the codec being used.
Thanks,

Hi Rich,
Thanks for writing back to me. Yep, just like you, I too am looking for a
lower bandwidth codec for my outbound. And, yes, broadvoice only officially
supports G.711. That being said, is there even a way to do this scenario in
asterisk?
Thanks,

Hi,
I've seen these Linksys wireless routers with an ATA already built in (Both
for ATT and Vonage) at staples. I was wondering if anybody has one, and
has been able to configure one of them for asterisk? Is the ATA portion of
the router locked or can you just go into the router's webadmin
However, for the last hour or so their site has been unreachable with
an icmp destination unreachable coming from 199.232.42.62, which belongs
to Cambridge Entrepreneurial Network in Quincy MA. Would guess either
someone upgrading hardware or a failure near broadvoice.
I just spoke with
