Dell poweredge 1850 + a104 sangoma card works fine. No disabled
hardware. No IRQ juggling. No problems. (no I don't work for them, but
they did give me a sweet deal on the card)

Thanks.
Cepstral. They will tune it for $150/hr too. Depending on the
vocabulary of your app, this could still be cheaper than most
commercial TTS engines.
They have 2 new English voices that sound very nice, maybe they will
upgrade their other languages too.

I believe these show up in some advanced settings even if you
configure the cards as TDM. I am doing T1 PRI, and have been able to
get away with the default settings for all the advanced options. Be
sure that your zaptel file matches all the E1 settings you used in
wancfg.
Be sure to get the
Works fine for me. Use 2.3.3 drivers.

I have head that the SC prefixed Dells are not good to use with Digium
hardware. Considering how picky my TE405P cards were in other low end
Dell servers, I would suggest using an 1850 instead.
OTOH, if it does work, please let me know :-)
If you go to small biz, you can get the SC1425 trimmed
SATA works ok for me, but its not like I am running a DB server on that
box, just a TTS engine and some audio files. It would be nice though.
I had some trouble getting my TE405P cards to talk, and got some helpful advise from the folks at Digium

I am also seeing the same problem on asterisk-users. I reported the

Do you have /dev/zap* files? (not in subdirectory)
If so, maybe something is wrong with the udev configs.
If not, maybe the zaptel module is not loading.
The /dev/zap/* files are created with the zaptel module before any card specific module.
Do you have any messages when starting the zaptel
Hi everyone,
I am trying to find a reliable reproducible system to run quad
PRI on a TE405P or TE410P. I currently have 2 TE405P I am testing with.
For reasons out of my control, my company prefers to go with Dell.
Currently I have a few poweredge 750 and several poweredge 400SC to
play around
I have 2 power edge 400sc each with a te405p running fc3, it recognizes
the cards but one of the ports on one of the cards seems to be bad.
This is keeping me from going further and getting * installed. I will
let you know how the cards work when I get this port issue fixed.

Hi all,
I would like to have basic answering machine detection for a
notification service (not spam, not telemarketing) so that I know when
I get a machine, and also to avoid starting the message during the
machine greeting.
I have found the WaitForSilence app in CVS, and this seems like it

Wouldn't it be much simpler and effective to just boot them off the
list? I think they would get the picture pretty quick when they got
back...
They can always check the archives to read up on missed posts, and it
would save us all the trouble in the mean time ;-)
