It does depend on how you set up the call forwarding on asterisk and
sometimes when the ATA sends the forwarding call to the Voip provider
server it has nothing to do with it which causes a problem. if you
disable call forwarding remotely see if that works also. its a tricky
situation.

first time im hearing this. not saying its not possible but the things
you will need to do to make it work it wouldnt be worthwhile..
Asterisk PBX is more of a server relaying SIP/SCCP/IAX/DAHDI calls and
having softphone or hardware phone clients connecting to it.

reason its hanging up as ANSWER does initiate. the code itself seems

ED, doesnt matter whether your using Public or Private IP addresses it
should still work. theres also a situation on how you have configured
it. it can also be a codec issue. i havent really dealt with Acrobits
