The signal tone that we get when a second call comes in is to loud and
disruptive.
Is there a way in asterisk to change the call waiting signal tone.
If it was just not so loud it would be better.

a POTS line so it's not the phone that's
the problem.
I've used the SPA-1001's web interface and the ringer seems to be enabled.
Is there some setting I'm missing?
Or is there something special I have to set up in asterisk?

Today I downloaded the latest CVS and compiled.
Afterword any use of the voicemail app shuts down asterisk.
This is a line from my extensions.conf: exten => 401,3,Voicemail(401)
This will cause asterisk to shut down with no entry in /var/log/messages
or /var/log/asterisk/messages

Hello all
Has anyone had any success with the Manager API ?
I am trying to check an extension status without too much luck I have
the following
$fp = fsockopen("127.0.0.1", 5038, $errno, $errstr, 30);
if (!$fp) {
echo "$errstr ($errno)\n";
} else {
ext.
The status returned is always -1 no matter what the real status of the
phone is, on hook, off hook, busy, ...
Thank you

This is my second asterisk server but the first one with a T100P card.
I connected it to the phone company(SBC) jack but have only a busy
signal when calling the T1's number and nothing in the asterisk log
files to indicate a connection.
Do I need to use a crossover cable?
Thanks

Did you create a user for the asteriskcdrbd?
In my case I created a user asteriskuser with all priviages and gave it
a password.
Then entered that info, user name and password, into
/etc/asterisk/cdr-mysql.conf

I recently purchased a Asterisk Developer's Kit (TDM) and now have it
outfitted with 2 FXO modules and
2 FXS modules. I'm not using the X100P modem card that came with the kit.
I'm having problems with dialing out on my POTS line.
Successful dial out is intermittent. About 50% of the time the call
