simply i followed the instructions on
http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/asterisk_gui.html and it works.
up to now i have it working in the following OS's:
-debian squeeze
-ubuntu server 12.04
-centos 5.9
all of them work fine.

I have installed asterisk-gui-2.1.0-rc1 . After I logged in to the GUI
, it was continuously refreshing the web browser and trying to load
the configurations.
