I just joined gnophone for a IAX phone number.
Got my number and password and I have confirmed it.
So not that I have this how can I put this into my
Asterisk server and make it get calls to my extension?
I have read most of the pass post and done
Is iaxtel down? Im trying to dial Echo test: 1700613 and I get a busy
signal...
Also, is the gw to FWD users down too?

As I see, you should setup in extensions.conf all 1700*,1888*, 1877*,
1866* and 1800* for this connection.

one. Should I be able to call myself through IAXTEL using my 1700
number? I'm behind a NAT firewall and can call other numbers, I just want

My access to IAXtel seems to be somehow broken. When I call someone at
a 700 number my * console spews forth the following:

I am testing IAXTEL and routing 800 number to them.. Sometimes
the call goes through and the other times it get the following error.

I should be missing something. The password that go with my IAXTEL
registration include an "@".
It seem that I can't use it because it thing that the second part of the
password is the host name.
I just don't know how to solve this one.

been discontinued. iax v2 (udp port 4569) replaced it, and is now

bandwidth=high
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
The call will not go through, if I set allow=all
it sets the format to ADPCM and the first 15sec. or so the voice is
choppy, it is hard to understand anything.
Is it reliable/practical to terminate 1

Both register commands register with the iaxtel provider. No matter
which number is dialed to reach Asterisk, it takes you to the same
[provider] section, and thus the same context. I need for 2 register
commands, registering to the same provider, to branch to different
contexts or extensions.
And what I told you works just fine. I'm taking 20+ DIDs from a single IAX
provider with no problems what-so-ever. I'll be happy to consult for you at
my normal hourly rate if you still can't figure it out.

I think the screen says something about it not changing your IAXTEL

OK I got it working. Thank you Rich I used your examples and had to add the following

You must use GSM with iaxtel and Voicepulse for now... I talked
to the guyfrom voicepulse and they said ilbc might be turned sometime in

I have a problem with my setup in that I have got it to register by
putting the register command in the iax.conf, but when I call my own
number I just get silence. Output

Further experimentation and I discovered that this change to
iax.conf make the problem go away:

I found the answer: One can disallow a codec within
each context of iax.conf.

During my recent chat with Oliver with regard to the NL IAX<->PSTN gateway one thing
has cropped up.
Either my IAXTEL number is a bit dodgy or the example configs for IAXTEL numbers are
wrong. My IAXTEL
number starts 17001, but the examples clearly exclude these numbers:
[iaxtel]
exten => _
It's being replaced now with a new Dell. Details will be made available
soon.

That solved the outbound problem.. Thanks for the hint... 800 numbers are
acces
To add to this problem, we have been fighting a denial of service
attack on the toll-free gateways. We have installed new code to deal
with this problem hopefully. I will never understand why someone would
attack a free service.
