Ensure the debian package 'mpg123' is installed, and that 'mpg321' is
removed. It links mpg123 -> mpg321 via /etc/alternatives. Beats
cooking it up from source.

Maybe a environment problem. When you start asterisk via init script, you
will not have the full environment setup. Think asterisk can not find

You're using variable rate mp3's. If you want to avoid the error,
recode your mp3s to a static rate.

Hi.
I am having the following warning when using music on hold.
It works from X-Lite to Grandstream. I get a lot of errors
and warnings.
1.Warning, flexibel rate not heavily tested!
2. NOTICE[1100258240]: res_musiconhold.c:260 monmp3thread:
Request to schedule in the past?!?
I have been having periodic trouble with mpg123. I have tried .59r & .59s
and perhaps others a while back and still get the 'broken pipe' and zombie
mpg123s (although I think I saw something about a fix in the changelog) once
and a while. Is it currently possible to configure moh to run directly on
add an mp3 to the path specified
be sure to have mpg123 installed
(and not mpg321 or some link that point
mpg123 to mpg321...)

How do you enable music on hold?
>From the little bit I found on the * site, it looks like all you do is
uncomment one of the lines in musiconhold.conf
What else is to be done?

Hello All,
Does anyone here know how I might provide music into a conference room
when there is only one participant. Dead silence tends to confuse
non-techies who think that they've done something wrong, even after the
entry announcement.

Sometimes when people hang up, or the call gets interrupted for some
reason, music on hold starts playing. (i use app_dial without extra
parameters and no moh is set in extensions.conf)
Any suggestions on how i could get rid of this 'feature' ?

with x-lite and x-pro sip clients for e.g., you can put a caller on hold
simply by pushing the line button.
i.e.
call comes in on line 1,
press line 1 button to answer and talk to caller
press line 1 button again to hold the caller
caller hears MOH
press line 1 button again to talk to caller

will play music - how do I get it back - and how do I tie it into the
hold button on a sip client??
Thanks again.

I am trying to suss out music on hold feature - hopefully to integrate
nicely with SIP phones and the hold button you find on most - can some
