Maybe you should just use your $5 modem and write your own software.
Asterisk is a PBX. PBXs shouldn't have to deal with your bastardiz

i've also added a feature request to bug tracker
(http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0002612) regarding
this issue.

My question would be, how would asterisk know the line is in use if it
isn't controlling it?
No, not really, what information do you need?
I have no idea whether it is an asterisk problem,
and adit 600 problem, etc... I was hoping someone
would be able to give me an idea of which config
file to look into, etc... so I wouldn't have to attach
20 config files to my email.
