Then you need to use externip= localnet=, portforward 5060 and whatever ports
you are using for RTP. Check rtp.conf. I don't recall if rtp.conf controls
incoming
I suspect you misunderstood. What I am lokinng for is a hardphone that
works well. Asterisk itself is running fine... The issue is for example,
if in europe, behind an uncontrollable nat, are there good phones that can
handle this without requiring the configuration of the external address?

I want to give a phone to my brother, who is going to europe. His ICH
softphone is fine there. Both the poly and cisco though require you to
setup for nat. He would not be able to set this up though, so I want to
just give him a preconfig'ed phone and plug and go...
