About two years ago, using chan_sccp driver, I was pretty amazed by the
workability. There were a few random reboots in the phone, and in my
understanding, this was the result of the channel driver because the
phone is more like a puppet than a real phone.

Just a guess on 31, but have you made sure you have a different IP Number
on each of the two phones. With some of my own observations in watching
them boot up, I have remembered that even if it is assigned a static IP,
it still has a phase that says "Obtaining IP"
