My card is AR5212abg. I tried to get the current mode of operation
through "iwpriv ath0 get_mode". But private ioctls are not implemented.
But "iwconfig" result is showing IEEE 802.11g mode of operation. I think

is this in the A band? i have had similar symptoms with AR5213A + RF5112A in
the A mode. G mode worked fine. AR5213 (no A!) + RF5112A worked fine in all
modes, so i guess we are missing some initialization needed for AR5213A.

I have gone through the mac80211 and ath5k source code. From driver logs
I found that driver is sending probe requests through
ieee80211_send_probe_req() function which subsequently calls
ieee80211_sta_tx() function. But in ethereal captures, I didnot find any
probe requests from my laptop
