Thanks Mosè, it was happening for each and every file. I fixed it by uninstalling the AUCTeX git and all of its files and installing AUCTeX from elpa (though that probably means I'm running an old version). Mosè Giordano m...@gnu.org writes: Does this happen for every file or just some files?
