ah wait, this happens actually with any XeTeX compilation --- \documentclass{article} \begin{document} a \end{document} --- I was focused on my font set-up, and wasted my time and yours. Anyway with the above: LaTeX: problems after {1} page but I see now Mosè's message in my mailbox...
