I attach a tentative patch to make AUCTeX major mode names not overwrap
built-in TeX modes. In this patch, the new mode names (value of
`major-mode') are
- plain-TeX-mode
- LaTeX-mode
- docTeX-mode
- Texinfo-mode
- ConTeXt-mode
- AmSTeX-mode
