Re: please stop telling us to switch

Meh, I really don't get people giving snarky remarks on harshly telling people to switch from BGT to another language...

Let Windows naturally do that by killing off BGT from being usable after enough version upgrades. That'll give enough people motivation to switch to a new language, and those who made the jump are ahead of the curve.

Embody the sounds of the windows incompatibility messages dinging across laptops and desktops, as you swoop in with your own project made in Python 5 or C+++*/+. Enjoy the lack of other competition as people try to figure out how to make BGT run in Windows 25 version 241992.

Uh, this is probably a somewhat weird and mean post. Though the fact this is a scripting language no longer supported by the creater, the creater saying to stop using it because of this fact, and windows needing to update and change every 5 minutes might be concern for someone planning to use this long term.

However, most people aren't using it for the long term. They're using it for the short term to get their foot into the door and used to certain concepts. Early users of BGT have already moved onto other languages on their own, and the same will eventually happen to current users. There's no harm in letting them create content for people to enjoy.

As well, there are newer game creation kits coming out, or starting to gain an audience such as that Sonis GDE (I butchered this name) or the Sable RPG creation kit. Not exactly learning programming languages, but content creation kits for someone to get into creating games and keep that passion. Bonus if the producers of these will maintain the kits long term, which may look like it if that console is successful and this RPG kit gets a following.

Just let BGT run it's course, it'll naturally die out for one reason or another.
