Re: Good resources to learn Japanese online

Granted my knowledge of Japanese is limited to karate terms I learned from my Sensei, but I think I have a resource that can help you: Google Translate.

I've had friends use it to try to talk to me in Spanish, and while it's not 100% accurate, it's pretty darn close (as close as any online translation software can be IMO).  It gives you the pronunciation (with audio!) and the written form (like the symbols you posted).  I've had friends use it to mess with me in Spanish (dropping 4-letter words and laughing at my shocked reaction lol) and others use it to actually try to talk to me in Spanish, so I know it's good for short phrases at least.
