I'm really missing a notetaker right now (and so are you*)
* Because obviously the things I would make if I had one would be worth your time. Obviously. *Nods sagely.* ** The above may or may not be true.Aside from Sengoku Jidai and some of my pre 2008 stuff, having a USB-compatible note taker h

Have you looked into the Braille Plus? Note that I'm talking about the Braille Plus (different from the Braille Plus 18!)Downsides: no braille display hilt-in. If you want one, I suggest Refreshabraille. Also, it's a legacy product.

Hi.I would not get the Apex. The Apex is crap and so limiting.I would go for the braillesense u2 or the braille plus or the braille plus 18.As for the pacmate, well it's crap because it doesn't even have wireless radios.I've asked th

That seems to be an urban myth. It does crash often, regardless though.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=157681#p157681

Hi.@Cae I recommend the braille plus 18. It has pretty much everything you mentioned except for maybe a compiler.@Mord-Sith avoid the BrailleNote apex whenever you can. If it't's possible try getting the braille plus 18. The apex is

Hi Cae and allSo, first of all, I find it necissary to pointlessly point out the point that you are indeed limiting your self horribly by even using a note taker in the first place, and that there are about a million simple work arou
Re: I'm really missing a notetaker right now (and so are you*)
In the time that I used the apex, I really enjoyed it. it didn't seem to crash that often compared to the pacmate. I could listen to music on it, read books, write and even play interactive fiction. it also had a braille display whic

Would have to agree with you Mord... though I've had bad experiences with the Apex's OS crashing every time it got the chance. But it seems to have fixed itself. I wouldn't call it my favorite piece of technology (I still can't trust

Re: I'm really missing a notetaker right now (and so are you*)
I went with the Apex, for sheer propriety. Never mind everything else--the Apex has the leftovers of a DOS-based text editor in it, and Duxbury for braille output. What more do you want? Yes, it plays z-code. Between that, the dictio
Re: I'm really missing a notetaker right now (and so are you*)
forget the ghetto notetakers get an android tablet or phone or an ipod touch with access note. and a bluetooth keyboard or braille pen display. they are way better and can do tons tons more than a blind specific notetaker. and braill
Re: I'm really missing a notetaker right now (and so are you*)
It's funny how some people here are not reading what the OP posted. He wants those specific set of things onto a device to maintain concentration on certain tasks. So, no, an Iphone or android won't work because there's a crapton
Re: I'm really missing a notetaker right now (and so are you*)
Hi.Again, I say please don't get the braillle note Apex. It's way too overpriced and doesn't do nearly the stuff even an iPhone can. Also, anyone know why the braille note Apex transfers large files really slowly? I mean really slowly
