Yeah, I have no idea what this "braille challenge" is either. All I know is that I read particularly fast. I don't think I've ever been precisely tested. And I've never used a display, so for me it's paper or bust.

Wow some amazing numbers. I only read uncontracted braille, now it is time to use contracted to increase my speed. I find reading in braille much of fun particularly when I am reading fiction.

My maximum speed is 392 WPM, I was tested in 2017 on a Braille display. But usually, I read about 290 to 300 wpm functionally. I only use my maximum when I want to quickly skim something and get a quick read of it, but I can do

Good question! How would you go about measuring this speed? You guys have any tips? I don't think I've ever gotten tested, or tested myself. Also, 300+ words per minute seems like a lot. But of course, that's coming from me who has nothing

It used to be 330-375 pm on a display contracted, but now it's like 170 cause I haven't really read it in 5 years. Yea for computers!

My vision teacher tested me when I was in seventh grade. From now until 10th grade I don't think it has really changed all that much, so my reading speed is about 325 words per minute, the average college speed.

Last time I checked, I was reading around 150 words per minute of contracted braille on a braille display. I've never checked my speed on paper, but I feel like I read more quickly.

Braille Reading Speed, what is your average?
How many words you can read in braille? I average 90 to 100 words in a minute. This is in uncontracted braille using a braille display. I suppose reading using braille paper is way faster.
