One thought I had about all the links which have been removed is that some IBMTTS addon distributions sidestep the piracy issue by not including the actual IBMTTS software needed for the addon to work. I know at least one repository on GitHub works

If you want to turn off the short pauses in IBMTTS, open ibmeci.py (not _ibmeci.py) in the addon directory, search for pause_re, and add a number sign (#) to the beginning of the two lines that mention it.

The problem with that addon is that it crashes all the dam time. I'd recommend grabbing IBM TTS from http://x0.jc-hosting.me/uploads instead. It has pretty much all of the crash words fixed, plus a hole bunch of pronounciation fixes.

I don't own it, but I really can't see anything to do but switch to an illegal version and be secure in the knowledge that you actually own a legal copy. Code Factory products suck. Maybe there is a way though, but I'm not sure of

Well misspelling, that's eloquence for you. The other problems I'm not sure about as I haven't used that synth since I used jfw and that, was a while ago.
