180mm? Seriously? Holy crap.I have a general policy of never using fans included with a product, I always get my own because cooling isnt something I want to take lightly. I had a computer burn out on me once way back when because I relied on the fans included with my

Re: My Dream Machine
I have Noctua NF-f12s on my corsair h100I. They are a good balanced radiator fan. Much... much quieter than the SP120s that come with the cooler. You drop a little in cooling performance, but more than make up for it in regards to noise. mines still cool fine and I
Re: My Dream Machine
O, you could. But it would be such a waste of money that I cant even put an adjective on it. By the time youre 30, this dream machine will be your cell phone. if I went out and did this right now (I could, actually), Id be throwing it out for an upgrade in 2-4 years
Re: My Dream Machine
Id definitely go with an SSD for the operating system at least, and a pair of 6TB spinning drives would still be overkill for most uses but would at least give you redundancy or extra speed depending on if you used raid 0 or 1.A zeon processor is impressive, though
Re: My Dream Machine
Hello,[[wow]] with that many hard drives you would have almost infinite space, thatd be epic. Althoug when I first saw so many storage tb stuff it was pretty ridiculous. Thats around 32 tb of space which would probably takes years to fill up.Im not technical enough
Re: My Dream Machine
Hi,Do you guys think I could build it, though? Perhaps when I am about 32 and have at least $30,000.00 or so? (I dont know how much money Ill have then, but I hope to be able to build this, so yeah.)

Re: My Dream Machine
Probably if you had that much money to burn on building a computer, there are better things you could spend the money on.

Re: My Dream Machine
The 8 hard drives are probably overkill. I wonder if you replaced 4 of those with SSDs and put them in a double raid 0 array for speed, or raid 1 for safety, would it not be a better use of the motherboard space? Dont forget the card reader!

My Dream Machine
Hi all,Below is my dream machine. I hope to build this one day. If I never manage to do so, I hope someone will and let me see it and use it.PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchantCPU: Intel Xeon E5-2697 V3 2.6GHz 14-Core Processor ($2589.99 [ a-t ] SuperBiiz
Re: My Dream Machine
Only 32 GB ram? For this price tag, you might as well drop some of the hard drives and other stuff to save money and get a good 128 GB. It looks like you need a server motherboard. Also, there are some nice extension cards from Intel that go in your PCI slots
