@CW, thank you really so much for your suggestion, it really helped me, and now I converted all the documents to docs format so that I can work more easily with them. An alternative was to save the powerpoint presentations to PDF,which made them feel much like a webpage with headings and text.
@Simba, yes, it's true, and I don't know why they didn't give my friend the original documents, but condensed them to shorter ones, which still have much text to read.
