Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
Hey folks,This took way longer than expected, a big reason for which was that I was gifted with a Mac Mini and iPad Mini. As such, I've since gotten test builds working on MacOS. I'm still uncertain on whether I can adapt
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
@23 got it exactly. All of the above are implemented features. Balancing is obviously necessary since I'm the only one who's played so far, but Asteroids is definitely not Space Invaders. Granted, it's still a simpl
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
Hi,So in Asteroids, you can actually thrust forward through the screen to avoid things. Also though, you need to be careful. Asteroids start out as big, but when you hit them, they split into two medium asteroids, and shooting those
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
Is there anything that makes the gameplay stand out compared to space invaders? I'm assuming that's what asteroids is bassed off of?

Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
I just signed up!Am I remember you correctly? It was years ago when I found out about Torrent which was never released sadly.I remember some kind of trailer / teaser? The audio there was just great and I hope this one audio is really
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
@17 Audio is what it is, and we're too late in the release process to change it. Ideally this will be available for sale in a month or two at most, and I don't have time to redo audio with all the platform coverage I curr
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
I have another question as well, one that also might help with people deciding whether to sign up.I completely forgot to ask about the beta communication process. Do you want us to join a list, a discord, or such, or if people don
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
signed too to test it so @ironcross32 whitch is the name of the program that you are talking about? Is a comercial one? or what? And well Nolan, mayve try with the classic comercial options that have a small free tier like fmod, or
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
They are half decent when you use the right presets. The device you use has to already be 7.1 capable - so this isn't a technology that tries to bring surround into normal speakers, but it works well enough. You have to attac
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
I've signed up, my email address is the same for everything. Can't wait to test on windows and xbox one. I also have Chrome, and an older Firefox. Chrome's better for web-based games I'm finding. I have wi
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
@13Not to keep derailing the thread, but how good are your surround sound emulators? At the moment I'm considering whether to try for that, or to figure out if I can get a system, put everything on stands, and shove it in the c
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
i signed up as well. I have a windows 10 PC and an Xbox 1. For surround sound, I have a Corsair Void Pro. With that on surround sound, I also have two programs. One of which applies a driver and another of which provides presets, so
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
Cool, I'm not smart enough to help with Synthizer proper, but I'll gladly test any builds/demos you send my way on my 5.1 setups. I'm purposefully making my first few projects audio-light, so in theory I don't nee
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
@10WinRT actually works, in theory. I haven't tried it, but as far as I know everything it depends on supports it and I think the current build system works for it--possibly even the current binaries, actually. Excepting mini

Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
@8/9: Sorry, maybe I was unclear. I meant that, if a sound is to your left, there is absolutely no sound on the right. I don't mean HRTF, I don't think. I mean that, when you hear a sound on your left IRL, there's s
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
Also as a follow-up to that, what's your timeline on wanting something like Synthizer? I can prioritize getting it building on Linux higher, provided that there's someone serious who'd actually be using it as opposed
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
@7Why do you want sounds on the left to be heard in the right speakers, or is the bug that things that should pan between fl, fc, and fr pan too hard? Asking for the probably self-evident reason.Maybe yet another thing pushing me
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
@6 Definitely let me know. I have a 5.1 system in my bedroom and it works well. Godot's audio subsystem is a bit crappy currently in that sounds to the left are *only* heard from the left with nothing in the right channel
Re: Onslaught, audio Asteroids, early Linux/Windows beta
Just applied for the beta. Definitely looking forward to this. The site mentions surround-sound. I have a Turtle Beach Elite Atlas Aero with Waves NX 3d audio. Would be interesting to see how it reacts to the game.
