Which VIA board did you use? Neither one of the Nano-ITX boards listed
on their site indicate a fanless option.
In fact - is it a VIA board at all? Doesn't look like either of those
boards, and they usually put a prominent VIA logo on it.

A few things to be aware of - since you'll be using the digital outputs,
your volume control will be digital, which I think most would agree is
less than ideal, because it can introduce rounding errors etc. (unless
of course the DAC-1 has a volume knob, in which case you can use that).

I setup a new Nano-ITX fanless system since I have my slimserver in the
same room as my stereo. It's really wonderful.
