I'm hoping someone can give me a simple answer to something that is
taking me forever to wade through previous threads to learn.
Is there a plug and play linear power supply for my SB2 that I can buy
here in the US, and that deosn't require any assembly?
Thanks for your trouble!

My hosfelt's came with the wrong kind of plug, so I had to cut the plug
off, and then strip the wires and use a voltmeter to figure out which
wire in the output pair was positive and which was negative.
Is that what you're doing? You've tested both ways? (Be really careful

Steinar,
Bit-correctness depends on the sound card hardware. You need to buy a
card with a 44.1 crystal on it to maintain 44.1 output. Most cheap
cards and onboard sound only have a 48 crystal so they must resample
(even if you run kernel streaming or asio).
The cheapest

But will Softsqueeze work with kernel streaming or ASIO drivers?
SoftSqueeze is running on my Win2k box using the MAudio 24/96's ASIO
driver.
I get occasional pauses - as if there were network congestion (unlikely
given my gigabit LAN) - but otherwise it seems to work just
Are they suitable for your mains supply voltage? I know it's a daft
question, but sometimes they're the worst.

OK, thanks. You do this by selecting the ASIO driver

Yes. And then for my setup, I had to make sure everything was wired

I don't think there's anything other than the Eplac in the low-cost,
plug-n-play category. I don't know the model name though.

I would like to know the answer to that as well... it's pretty easy to
find open 5V linear power supplies, but hard to find closed ones, with
or without the correct DC connector. I looked at Elpac's website
before, and couldn't find one.

I have been using some Acoustic Energy Aego M units in my study,
consisting of very small solid satellites (approx 100mm tall) which sit
on the desk with the powered sub below (as I write I can't find a tape
measure but it would be about 300m high ) this has a knob for setting
