I just purchased a pair of these (along with a second SB) for my office,
and they're decent:

I haven't compared them to the Aego-M's - actually I was a bit torn
deciding between the two without first hearing them. After reading
The Swan S200A's are pretty close to audiophile class, both in fidelity
and finish. Swan has also introduced a new triangular active monitor
with remote, forget the model number, but audioholics.com has pix of
both in their Cedia coverage. I am using the S200A's in a secondary

I have to agree with this, at least on my own account, the more so since I once (a long time ago) did know, at least, what was state of the art in broadcasting studios in the UK. Then, though I was involved in the business. I don't now find the information is that easy to acquire. Neither record

How can a SB used as a transport with high grad coax cable with aaif
I called in today to check on my Transporter ship status. A courteous
and professional representative looked up my order and said I should
expect the unit to ship in approximately three weeks. I ordered it on
August 24th and I'm halfway down the list. Demand was much greater than

Cheers,
Having supplemented the SB2 attached to my stereo with a SB3 in the
kitchen I listened to several active speakers and found the Genelec
brand to be very neutral and very much to my liking. Not that cheap,
but very good IMHO.

All,
We expect to start shipping Transporter this week.
Demand has been greater than anticipated and it will take us a few
weeks to work through the backlog.
If you place your order today, I would expect a 3 to 4 week delay in
shipping. As promised, the special offer will end the day we

Neither record companies nor broadcasters exactly encourage the public
to mooch into a studio and play around. Any suggestions, Pat?

let me clarify,
It bothers me that JA compares 2 digital transports without taking out
other variables.
He should use the same cable from each digital transport, eg. his Ayre
and the SB into the Levinson with the same brand, type etc.
He should compare AIFF to the CD, rather than apple
But both the SONOS ZP80 and ZP100 are class C. JA seems to think that
the ZP80's analogue output sounds better than the Squeezebox's. But,
IRC, the ZP100 doesn't even have a digital out. That alone should even
things out between the ZP100 and the SB3. OTOH, the ZP80 has a digital
out.

Whoever claims to hear a difference between Apple Lossless and AIFF, or
pretty much anythign else, is smoking something funny.

Hi John,
Is that 40/40, or 40/100? (The volume control now goes from 0-100 in

Thats 40/40, the oldfashioned way!
