A CD is 16-bit, 44.1 kHz. While some software will let you convert this to 24-bit, 96 kHz, it won't do anything - you can't add information that isn't there. You'll get a 24/96 file but it won't be any different than its 16/44.1 source. There was some experimentation with 24-bit, 44.1 kHz as
