Hi, Trust me or not... but I bought yesterday the SPDIF board to install inside my amp ATOLL IN100SE and the result is amazing !!! The sound is now much better than the sound provided by my Philips CD723 at an approximately same volume. More details, more relief. Compared to the analog outputs

Has anyone with a Transporter used it with a higher end DAC with word clock input? circa DCS/EMM Labs/Esoteric/Opheus/Acoustic Arts? Or even the plain old DAC64? I'd be interested to know if anyone has managed to improve the Transporter substantially with an external DAC. -- agentsmith

Hi Brian, Yes, that is true - I just didn't realize that the equivalent series inductance (ESL) would be so high for the electrolytic that it had an effect below 20kHz. I found this document showing the effect of ESL in a very nice graphical way

Nothing really incredible. Mechanical vibrations are tricky. Denon (like other companies) have been working for a long time on that on their high-end amplifiers (for instance the POA-A1HDCI amplifier http://www.usa.denon.comHD/POA-A1HDCILit_1219.pdf). Of course, you can believe that the guys at

Believe it or not, some of these devices do improve or degrade sound quality depending on materials used and areas of application -speaker spikes on stands -blu tack to decouple speakers from the top plate of speaker stands -isolation feet/cones for CD players and amplifiers using a variety of

I think the AVI derives from the same school as ATC. My Googling shows up many ATC speaker / AVI amp combinations, and I think the AVI owner is ex-ATC, or vice-versa. The main appeal seems to be that they have the benefit of active technology but in a domestically-acceptable product. All of the
