In a world where there are apparently no dumb questions, what follows
could very well be the exception to the rule.
I#8217;m considering buying a DAC/Inegrated Amp combo. To feed the
DAC, I#8217;d take the #8220;Digital Out#8221; from a Squeezebox

Data integrity should be the same across the range, and should be 100% -
that is bit perfect with the original data file on the server. As for
'quality', the S/PDIF standard relies on the device receiving the data
recovering the clock from the datastream. Much has been written on this
forum and

When streaming 24/192 files from a NAS, will the digital outputs on my

Which NAS? Transcoding using SOX has been disables for the ReadyNAS
because it simply does not have the processing power required for the
job. I

Really?
How about:
Music on good quality vinyl played on a well configured and well set up
LP12 will always sound better than if recorded and played digitally at
16 bit / 44kHz.

No flame suit or running required. At issue is the statement itself
I have not long since done a re-rip of the 2 channel MLP files on the
Hotel California DVD-A. These files were unpacked and saved as wav
files.
There are a couple of things I have noticed.
1 - flac.exe will not compress these wav files to flac. My assumption
is that flac.exe will only go as
FLAC goes up to 32/640

both flac and SC are unhappy with the WAV files suggests maybe there's
something weird about them?

When I transcode the files to 24/96 both flac.exe and Squeezecenter are
This type of exchange always both amuses me and perplexes me . One the

If Transporter could handle 24/192 files it would only be able to

I'm not sure why you say this? While not common, there are

Which units offer that capability?
