diagnosing that?
TacT treats all SPDIF RCA digital inputs the same. They're all
transformer coupled.

measured jitter on the Duet's digital output. IMO, it
sounds better than the SB3 digital out.

of cost? Thanks for your input.
Since the Duet's digital section is the same as the SB3, check out this
excellent thread on improving the digital output:

-3 is either schematic #16 or #17, but
that's as far as my limited electronic neurons take me...
Unless the DC voltage going into the regulator is higher than 9vdc,
changing the resistors won't give you 9 vdc.

I believe when I checked, the voltage coming off the transformer is 9
volts.
The transformer's output is AC, measure the DC voltage after the diode
bridge.

sounds equal to or better than the SPDIF RCA
output, maybe the SPDIF RCA output has problems. See the audiocircle
thread.

CPC, you seem absolutely convinced that coax is/must be better than
toslink...why? Do you have any evidence to back this up?
Once the SPDIF/RCA output has been optimized as per the audiocircle
thread, it sounds better than the Toslink.

Who's going to do the clock mod on your SB?

The little red light on the TACT is rather useful..(when set correctly)
I agree. When it's set to 0db, and you see it flashing, you should
lower the SB's digital output.

at once, that transformer with the swapped dots is electrically
equivalent to the original.
The entire start of the winding and end of the winding concept is
nonsense.
So, please tell us which way is the right way to connect the AC line
input to a transformer.

But I haven't seen anyone provide evidence of improved audio
performance from doing this - only anecdotal evidence.
I've been told the best connection to the primary side is the one
that yields the lowest voltage reading from neutral to ground/chassis.
