dac I got pops during quiet passages. Derek Shek told me to re-rip at
44.khz because the shek1 doesn't support 48khz. Problem solved. I
wonder if your situation is similar.

It's pretty weird. I'm going to call Boz today and ask about it. I
also have an Airport Express connected via optical. Playing the same
tracks, there is no problem. The only problem happens during silence
between tracks through all the coax connections.

intriguing. I'd be curious to find out how it all works
out.
P.S... You obviously never had problems when using it with your
previous DAC .. right? Have you tried switching cables? Using shorter
ones perhaps?

I figured out the problem -- the digital gain was set to 0.
Increasing it to 12db did away with the problem.

Correction. That did not work (I tested on some jazz that, I guess,
didn't have much of a break between songs).
This is really frustrating and I assume it is a fault of the TacT.
