I'm wondering if I can alter any of the other slimserver files (.pm,
.conf, strings.txt, etc.) to provide the text display described above.

press vol_up or vol_dn on my slim remote. Can I change a
line of code somewhere so that my SB3 displays Increasing Volume or
Decreasing Volume depending on the selected volume button?
