I might be way off the mark here, but I had a similar problem,
background noise but only while playing. It turned out to be the SB2
psu.
When I moved it away from my amp the problem dissapeared.

With a budget of about 4 hundred quid give or take, could you guys give

Cheers for that - very interested in the speakers you mention Inguz,
that's great that the ceiling mount is seperate. According to their
website, there's a dealer up the road from me that sells them so I can
actually hear them first unlike other ceiling speakers.
