Off-hand I can't remember the number, but I raised this as a bug a few
months ago.
There haven't been any recent updates so I guess it's way down the
shopping list.

I know for my integrated, even if I get stung for full duty it'll still
be way lower than the UK price. £1899 over here, yet £770 inc PP from
the States :|

So you think that 2% of the CD sale price does to the artist if they are
lucky.
I think you've mis-interpreted, the point being made is only a fraction
of the CD cost actually goes to the artist - NOT that servies thinks the
artist should only get 2%.

only buy 'Now That's What I Call Music 199'
compilation albums as they're only interested, generally, in 1 track by
any particular artist. Most of them are here today, gone tomorrow,
manufactured pap - it's a stretch to call them artists (well, maybe
p155 artists!!).

I'm still using SS 6.5 (not needed to upgrade yet) - does the latest SB
firmware (81?) have any issues working with 6.5 as I'd like to grab
some of the 24/88.2 tracks from Linn?

At the risk of being a bit thick, the studio master FLACs say 24/88.2,
not 24/96?
Am I missing something?

that until recently
downloading 4-9GB has been pretty much unfeasible for the majority and
dual-layer DVD+/-R prices are only now starting to drop to reasonable
prices, leaving the best option to-date being a re-compressed movie
with most features stripped to squeeze onto a 4GB disk.

You mean a thread that starts out asking about CD treatment, morphs into
cosmic rays, flipped bits, etc, etc.
I'm just happy I'm not so sensitive to pick up all these audible
differences :D

And I found streaming raw WAV did liven/brighten up the sound somewhat,
obviously it's my opinion only and you're welcome to try the same or not
but you don't need to be so damned rude about it.
Oh, sorry, I just don't understand :|

for the DAC1, fantastic bit of kit, improved further with a
Stereovox XV2 coax cable. I'm generally a cable agnostic having heard
little to no difference on analogue cables but this one produced a
marked difference :)

No secret afaik, it's £800 for the SB+ with digital output only,
and £1000 for the SB+ with analogue and digital outputs.
I guess I just like to be able to see a price on the website rather
than ring to find out - a symptom of the modern instant info age
I'm hoping to be doing just this over the weekend (assuming my disks
arrive today).
I'm only interested in the stereo 96/24 tracks but I trawled the web
last night and got the relevent proggies ;) so I'm all set!!

I'd be keen to know the answer to this too, especially as I've got a
DAC1 on order and looking at cables ;)
Although with your example of EIDE there is error checking going on
while for audio digital the signal just drops out of the end of the
cable assumed error-free.
