At least the difference between a 1000 and a 500 phono cartridge.
However, neither Lavry DA 11 nor Beresford Caiman made a significant
difference to the SB 3.

compare back and forth for days ? then the convenience of
the squeezebox took over :) so there was practically no difference
between the two as a CD Quality audio transport.
That is exactly my experience.

that there is a difference to justify the money we spend?
In the latter case, I (we) would be much better of to spend our money on
a second SB 3 or a touch if it was available or, much better - there
really is a difference - to buy more vinyl record?
