reliable than software selection only. I hate to pull the plug to get
the transporter running again after the software has hung up. I would
also like to have a hardware switch for the word clock input.

nor that they offer network related solutions.
Anyway, I fully agree that a hardware switch for word clock input on
the transporter would be great. At least a software setting through the
remote should be easy to accomplish.

to 24/192 I would like
to enjoy them in that quality and not reduce them to lower numbers. If I
would only enjoy numbers I would choose MP3 320, but I prefer to listen
to the highest quality possible, this is what the audiophiles forum is
all about.

[I`m sure there are many people, especially those with outboard DACs,
who would like a less flashy unit which provides the same high quality
digital out.
I agree, best digital out, word clock input and up to 192/24, no need for
wireless (does not go with 192/24).

.
In contrast, the network is _only_ a data connection. The clock is
generated internally.
It is possible to get better performance with s/pdif only if the source
supports a word clock input. In that case you can get the same
performance as when streaming.

and analogue
output of the transporter did not send any signals after 10 to 30 sec
and the tranporter had to be resetted.
Now I am using a Laptop with two external 800 firewire 1TB HDD from
Western Digital. They are also very quiet and the overall handling is a
lot better.

get high end sound this feature is necessary.

Mofuv,
Are you running your digital front end through a preamp and if so what
preamp? Have you tried running the Transporter direct to amp?
To compare transporter, Linn and Scarlatti dac with and without master
clock I used an integrated amp (LUA Sinfonia). Thus I could do double
blind testing
dac connected to a
Accuphase A-60. The sound is exceeds by far the one if I am playing
CD's on my Linn Accurate CD player.

Transporter is connected via balanced AES/EBU to the purcell upsampler.
The Ethernet output then links to the dac and from there via balanced
outputs to the A-60 (balanced inputs).
The master clock is connected via BNC to the transporter, the upsamler
and the dac.

I just received the TranquilPC running windows home server. Slimserver
is preinstalled and is working well with the transporter, but I need to
change the setting of the slimserver software. Does anybody know how to
get into the setup menue of slimserver on the TranquilPC?

It is a wireless router which is not suited to transfer the necessary
datastream for high quality audio.

just connect the qnap directly via an ethernet cable or via your network
to the computer and set the multimedia folder up as a network drive (it
can easily be done with the software that comes with the qnap). Then
you can to copy the music files into that folder.

I have an external world clock connected to the world clock input of the

this information? Any ideas?

the music playing functions. Trying to
connect directly to the IP address does also not work. It would be
great if you could describe for a beginner what exactly I have to do to
get to the world clock settings.
