Try it some time. :)Ummm, ok. Are you just pulling jitter measurements from
manufacturers
websites then?

Cool, thanks for the explination. Dan also mentioned that my DA10 has
the RAM buffer as well... which I was unaware of. ;)

I actually sent the Brochure and Manual for the Digital Lens to Dan
Lavry for his opinion... and lets just say he doesn't have a high
opinion of what they are trying to sell. I'll take a look at that
link, thanks. :)

Very cool, can't wait to see where you go with this John.
As to the volume control, that can be disabled in the SlimServer
software so that it does not change the data. I would suggest using
the volume control on your DAC or preamp instead. :)

Interesting... I guess I'll have to burn them to CD and listen on my
Eastsound CD-E5 to Lavry Black DA10. Will that be a truer test?

That Genesis Digital Lens sounds like a really cool piece of kit. I
just read a few reviews on it... too bad it was discontinued in 2003.
Any ideas if there are other similar devices out there made by other
manufacturers?

The Lavry is quite smooth, yet detailed and resolving.
I haven't heard the DAC-AH, but it is a NOS design I believe and they
sound quite a bit different I hear.

I think there is either something wrong with these samples or my
speakers... either that or My Wife and I have amazing hearing.
We were both able to clearly hear up to 25k.
One strange thing I noticed was that the 22k sample was less distinct
than 23k-25k. Wierd.

I don't know about that... the tones were all similar sounding, just
harder to hear and they changed in character slightly as we went up to
25k.

I'll read through the thread in a moment, but I have found personally
that coax is far better. I think it is the fault of the Squeezebox 3

identical when using my Eastsound CD-E5 as a transport.
