I've had an Arcam Alpha CD player and amp from when they didn't have
numbers after their name ('88, in this case) and a pair of Linn Index
speakers[1] - same vintage.
What do you think? 20 year upgrade might be permissible?
I mostly listen now to a Squeezebox, through a home-made Meta42
headphone amp. For those occasions when circumstances permit, I was
thinking about getting one of those there T amps, but I understand that
they prefer high sensitivity speakers. I'd like to get floor standers -
can anyone recommend anything modestly (a few hundred quid) priced?
